We are a non-profit corporation dedicated to recognizing
and honoring young people in our community who make the
right choices and "Do
The Right Thing". Three times a year, children from the
Charlotte-Mecklenburg area are nominated by teachers,
firefighters, police officers and the public. They are
nominated for a self-sacrificing extra-ordinary act,
outstanding charitable assistance they have extended, or
their exemplary attitude and behavior. From the
hundreds of nominations received, twelve children are
chosen to receive the Do The Right Thing awards. All nominees receive a Certificate of
Recognition, a Do The Right Thing T-shirt, and a bumper sticker. The twelve winners also receive an engraved plaque, an
incentive prize package, and an invitation to a special
ceremony. In addition, the twelve winners are recognized on our
website, on the CMS Cable Channel #3, the Charlotte Observer and all area media outlets.
